According to a Reuters report, American Airlines said on the 5th that the plane took off from Miami to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey with 95 passengers and 6 crew members on board. Due to a mechanical failure, the captain shut down an engine and subsequently declared a state of emergency.
American Airlines stated that the problem may be related to the engine oil pressure or volume indicator. At present, the plane has landed safely in Newark. Boeing said it has been informed about the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it will conduct an investigation.
